Herds of Architecture V

Automation of Mazes from Tetris Configurations

Georgia Institute of Technology
2021
The project T+L Maze is an extensive project of the project “Herds of Architecture”, technically, it is an extensive project of “T+L Packing”. In the project “Herds of Architecture”, there are in total 52 spatial relationships between an L block and a T block. By applying these 52 spatial relationships on a given grid, the grid can be packed with these two blocks. After deriving the packing result, every L block can be replaced with a given ‘motif’ and every T block can be replaced with another motif. The similar design can be seen in the literature (Stiny, 1977).
