Fabrication

Geometric Sculpture

Plaster

University of Michigan
2015
This series of works are aiming to explore the relationships between materials and geometries, as well as the fabrication process involved in various machines. Geometric sculptures are involved in multiple geometric curves such as parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola, which are used as the basic geometries for compositions by applying a series of transformations. The compositions are implemented in the fabrication process with various machines such as robotic arm, CNC router, waterjet cutter, laser cutter, vacuum forming machine and so forth.
