Fabrication

Below Zero: Creek
Paper

Collaboration with Faysal Bhuiyan

2022
Below Zero is a series of project exploring the concept of creating parametric void space under zero plane. This project is also aiming to effort-less fabrication, where all cutting files are generated, labeled, arranged in one click and the fabrication process should error-proof by encoding the assembly information into the components. Here, this specific work (Below Zero: Creek) is a businese card stand where the void space is generated by a series of mathematical curves implemented in Python. Since businese cards follow the standard dimension, this design utilizes the standard height to form a “water level” when all the businese cards are placed in the spacing gaps.
