SmartCity Atlanta
The project Smart Atlanta 3D is developed as an online data platform for the city of Atlanta, where public data can be shared and visualized at the building level, or even at a smaller scale such as the transportation level, including buses, cars, trams, and so forth. Also, the public data can be updated in real time so that users can track buses, trams, or any dataset they are interested in. The main challenges of this project are: (1) implementing 3D models for all the buildings in the city of Atlanta and hosting them on a web-based platform, Cesium; (2) establishing a real-time data channel that keeps polling data from the data servers and visualizing the data at the building level; (3) updating the models in real time according to changes in the data input; and (4) designing the interface for both developers and public users.
